The bands you like suck.

I love stuff. Im always posting music i like…..

Today im sick and i met up with my friend Carley who also is sick and we were both grumpy….I made a joke when she said her laptop hard drive was full about deleting Bon Iver albums to make space to download a movie. She got semi offended…..cause they are good…

There are bad bands, but thats too easy, I realize there is some music that is considered ‘good’ that totally sucks. (to be diplomatic, i mean ‘it appears it sucks to me’).

So here is a quick list and my tenuous reasons for em’ for my own misanthropic amusement.

Bon Iver - annoying name and the audio equivalent of someone hugging you and soaking your shoulder with tears at a support group.

Vampire Weekend - good name, belies the fact that it’s earnest posh kid indie music with an overall stink of ‘kooky reggae’

Mumford & Sons - ‘Twang’

Queen - Shut up dude, you trying way too hard.

Joanna Newsom - sings everything like a small boy describing a spooky forest.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers - John Frusciante, you can leave. Everyone else, what the fuck guys? No really, just what the fuck!?

Tuneyards - A Starbucks latte singing the soundtrack to the lion king.

that’s it for now *grumble grumble*

I’m collecting everything for Canadian Citizenship application that has to be done this year……and noticed my UK  passport runs out in a month. of course. It’s said 2012 for 10 years….2012 is the future, whens that ever going to happen?….. So I’m looking up how to renew a UK passport overseas first.

Adjectives that come to mind for working towards responsible grownupery today are ‘clunky’ and ‘convoluted’.

Serge Gainsbourg - melody nelson.

Sleazy french music should be mostly be left …..there is an english language (!) synthy sexless cover by placebo from a few years ago that woud make you want to flick lit gauloises at them.

Smith sent me some links to new serge covers a few days ago and this cover is ok….and the drums have a 80’s Cure phasing sound….

Ive posted it for you to print on card and cut out  with an exacto knife for whenever you need to spray paint ‘Kick Out The Jamms’ on something.
